<div itemprop="description">Alice Marie Turner (nee Swinn)<br /><br /><br /><br />Alice passed away,just short of her 96th birthday, after a long illness at Parkview Home in Stouffville, Ontario on April 5th, 2014. Predeceased by her husband of almost 70 years, Len (2012) and son-in-law Ron McDowell (1983). Survived by her loving daughter Judith (Judy McDowell) of Stouffville. Proud grandmother of Greg (Sari) McDowell of Waterloo and Jamie (Jeannette) McDowell of Stouffville. Special Nana to great grandchildren Dylan, Allie and Shelby. Remembered by sister-in-law Joyce and the late Harold Swinn of Sault Ste. Marie and sister-in-law Margaret Gardner of Chatham, and many nieces and nephews. Alice was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and spent a large portion of her life in Lively, Ontario as Len&rsquo;s &ldquo;right hand&rdquo; during his time as Mayor from 1956 - 1972. After Len&rsquo;s retirement they spent their golden years traveling the world and enjoying their family. A Celebration of Alice&rsquo;s life will be held for the family and friends at the O&rsquo;Neill Funeral Home 6324 Main Street, Stouffville 905-642-2855 on Thursday April 10th, 2014 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at Stouffville United Church after the interment at Stouffville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stouffville United Church, Canadian Heart and Stoke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
