Arthur Friedrich Jammer

January 10, 1938 - May 19, 2016

With deep sadness the family announces that Art’s journey on this beautiful planet earth has come to an end. He passed away peacefully on Thursday May 19 at Markham-Stouffville Hospital. His passions for growing big pumpkins, windsurfing on Lake Simcoe, canoeing and camping in Algonquin Park, have been passed on to his son Mike. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Elisabeth, his son Michael and wife Susan, their children, his precious grandchildren, Fiona and Rowan, his brother Rudi (Gail), his nephews Clint (Rae Anne) and Kurt, and many extended family members in Canada, Germany, Austria, and Finland. Following his wishes there will be no visitation, or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Friday May 27 at 1 PM at the Stouffville Cemetery, Cemetery Lane, Stouffville, with reception to follow at O’Neill Funeral Home, 6324 Main Street, Stouffville (905-642-2855). Special thanks to the palliative care team, Dr. Patterson, Cheri McNeil, and Nurse Kelly. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Art’s memory to the Markham-Stouffville Hospital Palliative Care Unit, if desired. Plant some pumpkins or a tree in his memory.
